The Privas Ardèche Hospital Center is located in the heart of the Ardèche region (France).
The Hospital center includes two sites :
- The site in Privas – Hospital and the hospital residence of Montoulon (nursing home, rehabilitation center, long term care),
- The site in La Voulte-sur-Rhône – the Rivoly nursing home.
The Hospital Center provides healthcare coverage for the center of the Ardèche region, approximately 53 000 inhabitants. The Center offers medical, surgical, and geriatric services for both medical consultations and hospitalization.

The Privas Ardèche Hospital is also the headquarters of the emergency medical assistance service of the Ardèche department and the facility responsible for the gerontological sector, with the Regional Health Agency (ARS Auvergne Rhône-Alpes).
A little history…
Since 1903, the inhabitants of the Privas area have fought to have a local hospital in the city of Privas. The complexity of the region made access to care difficult. At the time, the nearest hospital of reference was the « Hospices Civiles in Lyon ».
In 1967, construction began. The design was entrusted to an architect from Aubenas. Initially planned as a two story building, a third floor was finally added to accommodate rehabilitation beds. The inauguration of the hospital of Privas took place 3 years later, in 1970.
Starting in 1970, the hospital of Privas welcomed 172 beds divided between the activities of surgery and medicine.
The hospital of Privas was born.
